The UN Security Council unanimously adopted a US proposed resolution to help humanitarian aid reach desperate Afghans, while at the same time keeping funds out of Taliban hands.
This resolution is the first of its kind after the 15th August 2021 collapse of the Afghan Government in front of the Taliban. Their economy faced the most difficult situation due to the freezing of funds by the US and ceasing of work by foreign Agencies. Pakistan has been lobbying hard to keep the humanitarian crisis at bay.
