The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) crossed its tax revenue target of Rs. 2.55 trillion for July-January (2020-21) by collecting Rs. 2.57 trillion.
This target has been achieved despite the issuance of 80% more tax refunds in comparison with same period last FY viz. Rs. 129 billion vs Rs. 69 billion. This has helped the business community to get their working capital back, reduce costs and focus on development.
The FBR said this improvement is due to the ongoing tax reforms, which are aimed at helping the business community.
