Pakistan Power Generation for July – May Increased 7% to 115,862 GWh in FY21 with share of regasified liquified natural gas (RLNG) plants showing growth.
The results of Pakistan’s Power Generation is part of the Government’s effort to increase production but of a particularly beneficial kind. Details are:
– Hydro power share decreased to 29.8% (last: 31.2%)
– Coal power share was constant at 21.5%
– Gas power share fell to 11.3% (last: 12.6%)
– Nuclear power share fell to 8% (last: 8.1%)
– Furnace oil share in increased to 4.4% (last: 3.3%)
RLNG-based power plants increased 15.4% to 24,235 GWh. The share of the imported fuel in power generation increased to 20.9% (last: 19.3%).
Production from:
– hydro power was still contributing the largest share at 34,581 GWh, up 2.1%
– coal stood at 24,958 GWh up 7%
– gas was at to 13,036 GWh, declining 4.3%
– nuclear fuel was at 9,253 GWh, up 5%
– furnace oil was at 5,097 GWh, increasing 44.3%.
