Latest Pakistan Political Economic News

The Cabinet of Pakistan decided against the restart of trade with India as India had not given way to any positive aspect regarding Indian Occupied Kashmir.

Earlier, the ECC which is a committee of the Federal Cabinet, had decided to restart trade with India, with the import of sugar and cotton, to benefit of the public and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), saying that “sugar is 15 – 20% cheaper in India compared to Pakistan.”

This came in the wake of the thawing of cold relations between the countries – this thawing is however expected to be a temporary aspect.

0.5 million tons sugar were tabled to be imported from India.
